All Believers should receive this truth since it is shown time after time in the New Testament.
* "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life." John 3.16
* "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and
believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and
shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto
life." John 5.24
* "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath
everlasting life." John 6.47
* "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall
never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my
hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no
man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." John 10.27-29
It's called "everlasting life" because it's everlasting.
Those that do not believe this truth are either:
1. deceived
or
2. not saved
The doctrines of 'eternal security' and 'salvation by grace through faith' go hand in hand:
-The only reason someone could lose their salvation is because they
did something to get it in the first place. This is called 'works'.
-Ephesians 2.8,9 tells us "For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works,
lest any man should boast."
-Titus 3.5 says "Not by works of righteousness which we have
done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost."
So you see; you get 'everlasting life' by believing. Faith, not something you do or not do. Not by works.
